Visual identity and branding for the fictional football club Kyoto FC. Kyoto FC is created to bring Japan´s most historic city into global football culture. Rooted in Kyoto’s deep cultural heritage, the club and its design honors the city’s traditions while embracing the spirit of modern football. Kyoto is known for its temples, crafts, culture and history, but also as an innovative city that embraces art, technology and international influence.
Kyoto FC aims to reflect this unique identity on the football pitch and beyond.

The logo uses the famous landmark and Buddhist temple “Kinkaku-ji” as its symbol. Inside of the symbol Kyoto is written in the Japanese written language kanji.

The typography has a classic look that is reminiscent of the forms used in Japanese art and architecture.

The halfcircle ties the elements of the logo together and symbolizes the rising sun of .

The club has a primary, marker and typographic logo.
